My engine runs too lean and will not pass emissions standards because of high NOX.
I did a tune up; changed the cat and O2 sensor, fuel filter, and pressure regulator; and ran some Redline injector cleaner through the system.
Purchased a Bentley service manual and Bentley fuel injection manual. All sensors seem to operate and produce signals in the specified range.
Monitoring the mixture via the O2 sensor, if I disconnect the vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator the voltage jumps from .2 (lean) to .5 volts.
Adjusting the AMM has no effect, although when disconnected the engine goes very rich in limp mode. The AMM checks ok, resistance, the right voltage to and from the unit, burn off signal, etc.
Any ideas? Is the main fuel pump failing?
Thanks
