Intercooler 200 1983

I was thinking about taking the intercooler out of my 1984 244 donor car and putting it on my 1983 242 turbo. Is this realistic or a pipe dream? Everything looks rather simple to figure out ... however I have been wrong before (don't let my girlfirend know that though).

If this isn't a dream, I would be greatful for some advice.
