Snow tires-to stud or not to stud 200 1991

Anyone have experience with or advice about the Michelin Arctic Alpine or Yokohama Guardex tires. I live on a dirt hill and it ices over some times in the winter. I was considering going with studded tires (which are cheaper than these tires). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
