Busted the driver-side rear outside door handle on my 1984 245 this weekend. Pulled on it to open the door, and something snapped. The handle is still attached to the car, but one of the two little metal "retainers" is clearly broken off inside the door. The door closes fine, but can only be opened from the inside.
This happened years ago on my 1983 244, so I suspect it's fairly common. At that time, I was mechanically inept and hired the dealer to repair it.
I want to fix it myself this time. I think I can get into the door (take all the stuff off the inside). What parts will I likely need, and how tough is this job to do?
