Well all, I had some cooling problems a while back, thought it was the
water pump and had that replaced. Truth be told, it was one of the
problems. This morning, as i got out of class and was heading to my car,
i saw a small puddle of coolant, and dismissed it as someone elses.
During the drive home, i noticed that the temp needle was around 9:00,
which is pretty abnormal, since it isnt a very long, straining drive,
and the ambient temp was pretty low. when i pulled into the driveway, i
popped the hood, only to see coolant sprayed all over the engine
compartment. I went to check the overflow, when i noticed somekind of
plug in the top corner of the radiator was half way out. as soon as i
touched it, coolant started spraying out. i immediately relieved the
pressure, and pushed it back in. The plug is at the drivers right of the
radiator, above the transmission cooler lines. What the hell is going
on? is it time for a new radiator, or can i do the shady mechanics job
and push that plug in, seal it with RTV, and wait? Thanks.
