A/C help.....!!!!! 200 '88

i'm in the prcess of replacing my compressor (burned out over the weekend), the receiver/drier and the evap core(??). isn't the evap core the thing that's located under the passenger side of the dash and wrapped in the gooey stuff??? whatever this thing is is what i need to replace. is there any hints or 'watch out's' i need to be aware of before removing this thing and replacing it??

i will be filling the system with 134a and just need to know if there's any other 'watch out's' in doing this???
