How do I care for/revive leather seats?

I have a 9 year old 740 w/leather seats. These are the most comfortable car seats I've ever experienced, and I'd like to preserve them. Any suggestions? The manual says soap and water is all that's needed, but I'm skeptical. Does anyone have any suggestions about leather care products?
