M46: crunching into 3rd 200 82

Hey all,

Just developed a problem with my M46. When downshifting from 4th to 3rd there is a small crunch. It gives the shifter quite a shock and then goes into gear. It only happens when downshifting and can be avoided by shifting very, very slowly. All other gears are smooth and without noise. There is fresh synthetic Type F in the gearbox. Any ideas? Thanks.
