How many amps does stock alternator produce? 200 1986DL

I'm thinking about installing a home-made MP3 player (okay, so I'm a nerd, sue me) into my Volvo, but I want to make sure it'll power both my car and the player first. I've heard the stock alternator puts out 100amps at 12volts, but I'm not sure. Can anyone verify this?
