How to improve the finish???

I have the silver 1990 245. the clear coat is somewhat scratched looking particularly below the side trim and on only one side of the car. the other side looks pretty good. the scratched side looks as if the clear coat is scratched and has a hazy appearence. How do I improve the finish short of repainting???
