AC Expansion Valve Adjustment 200 87

I saw in some older posts that the expansion valve in the 240's is adjustable and can be "fine tuned". Is there an external adjustment screw or something on the expansion valve? Can the adjustment be done without opening the system and loosing refrigerant? If anyone has experience doing this I would be interested. Thanks!
