Well, there are a lot of places that water can be coming in. The grommet where the wiper motor shaft penetrates the firewall on the passenger side and the faux-vent by the drivers knee where a sheet metal screw goes were the last two I dealt with on the 85. Also, the AC drain hose is what you were looking for and is next to the tranny (underneath the car) on the passenger side. It tends to get stuck shut and fill up leading to wet carpets so be sure that is free first. Then, pull the trim by drivers and passengers knees and get a flashlight while someone operates the garden hose on the car. It is very easy to see the water movement.

By the way, be sure the drain system along the outer rails of the floor is free of debris. Pull the plastic door thresholds and remove (peel back) the carpet. Then look for the round plugs (2' diameter) to access the drainage. A lot of leaves and needles (pine, not hypodermic) get in there and cause floor board rust. Water applied to the hood/windshield vent should exit the rail drain holes (3-4 per side) unimpeded.
