Some part of my 240 stops after the other parts. 200 1987

Shortly (0.3s) after coming to a complete stop after hard braking a thud can be heard. This thud is mostly felt in the center of the car, but sometimes it seems like it is coming from the front. The engine seems to be doing a little more shaking than it should, could this be the motor mounts?
