IS THIS A GOOD DEAL? 700 90

I looked at a 90' 740 turbo sedan with a stick today. The car seems to be in great shape except for the turbo. The car would run right to the yellow line andb the nuttin'. I did get It up to 60mph. though, SLOWLY! It has a Garette turbo and everything else works. Body is straight and looks killer, the guy is asking $2800. OH! it has 93K and change on the OD. and it is turning. I want to buy this car so bad but not sure of the economics when I'm done putting a turbo and timing belt into it. I think I could do it myself, but I talked to a guy and he said there's a good chance I'll break a stud on the manifold. Any advice? THANKS!
