I Just Adjusted A Black Thing On My Clutch Cable, I Was Wondering..... 200 84

Hello Guys,

I just adjusted a black nut type thing on my clutch cable because I was having trouble shifting gears. This is a threaded peice that is the first thing located on the cable before the clutch assembly. I took my car for a drive and now it shifts wonderfully.

Now for my QUESTION is it possible that we may have turned this bolt too much so that the clutch is permanently engaged?? We have the bolt thingy turned so far that there is no threads left showing. If someone could help me I would appreciate it. Thank You.
