240 engine woes...

Hey all,

My 87 240 doesn't seem to want to work. It cranks, though it does take a bit of encouragment on occasion. It even revs up fine, as long as i take it slow. Then, when i try to put it in gear, it chokes and cuts of. It sounds like its either choking to death or thirsting to death, but i really don't know. Any ideas?
