I'm transplanting the windshield wiper motor from a 244 into my 61
Chevy Impala. Right now I'm having a little trouble getting the motor to
"park" when it is stopped. From what I can figure out from the wiring
diagrams, it should work like this
Yellow wire; Always hot with ignition on. Provides the "park" feature
to bring the wipers "home" after you stop them.
Brown wire; Low speed signal from switch
Green Wire; High speed signal from switch
Blue wire (White/Black in later models); Wipe signal from relay for use
with single pulse, intermittent, or when using washer.
I've hooked up the yellow to a hot lead and am able to get the wiper
motor to run fast or slow with the green and brown wires. I get nothing from the blue wire and the "park" function is not working.
I pluged this motor into my kid's 86 244 to see if it would work, and it worked fine. Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong.
I will be monitoring the Chevy closely for any adverse reactions to this transplant, say a squaring off of the lines
