240 stalling puzzle 200 1984

1984 240GL started and ran fine for about 3 minutes, suddenly stalled while turning left. Engine wants to start, fires intermittantly, dies.

Hooked up a timing light. Consistently and repeatably firing on cylinder #2 only. Consistently and repeatably NOT firing on cylinders #1, 3, &4.

Puzzle: What can suddenly kill three cylinders and leave one firing?
