A couple of weeks ago my diesel just decided not to start one morning ( crank but no start ).
The car ran beautifully before that, and always started right up.
It had 2 weak glow plugs, so I replaced the set, but stillno go.
Glow plug relay and timer circuit test out OK.
Filter is new.
After further testing I noticed very weak fuel pressure ( fuel barely dribbled out of opened fitting and wouldn't pull fuel out of a can sitting on the fender) So I found a good deal on a new injection pump . ( I also installed an electric pusher pump )
Re-timed everything ( cam was a bit off before ) and have tried injection settings from .70mm -.95mm (should be .85 for this one )
Also installed new battery.
It's trying a little harder but still no start.
It will half way cough a few times ( engine RPM's will pick up a bit from starter speed and some smoke ) and give up
A week or two before the starter quit ,but functioned again after cleaning ( possibly turning too slow? )
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
