Headlight relay 200 1992

I have a headlight failure on my 1992 240DL. I think I have a defective headlight relay(the one that is supposed to be inside the car, under the dash). My problem is that I can't physically locate the relay. I have read the other postings. It's not on the firewall and it is not anywhere else I can find. I have removed the instrument panel and really gotten in there. My next step will be to remove the radio. I really don't want to do that. My manual only goes to 1986. The layouts are generally correct but the wire colors are totally inaccurate. Even hints would be appreciated.
