is 3:91 ratio worth the time to install on 245? 200 82

i am going to gut my 78gt. I am going to try to fix up my 82 wagon which is from california and has hardly any rust compared to the gt. I havent checked to see what ratio my standard trans on my 82 drives, but i do know that the gt has the 3:91. if the wagon has something less than the 3:91, is it worth my time to swap it into the wagon? I know this will not make it go to 60 from a min to 25 secs, but am wondering if it will pep up the acceleration enough to do the swap.
