Air Filter HELP?! 200 1986

Ok one more question. Just purchased an 86' 244 DL. The air filter from what I can see is dirty (just looking at it from the top) I can't seem to figure out how to remove the casing to install the new filter. The top part is easy unhook the clips, but how do I remove the bottom in order to get the new filter in? Am I missing something? It seems as though this should be a pretty easy task. thanks for your help..
