strange rattle from dash 700 89

howdo!

my '89 744 has some kind of a strange loose thing in dash or behind it (piece of plastic or smth). when i go over potholes or just the road is bumpy i hear it and it is quite annoying. i've replaced rear shocks but the front ones are still old. Can this be the reason???

also, the blower motor seems -- feels to be weak, any ideas, where and what to check.
