Hello, I have an `84 244DL (I just bought it). I will try to make this short, so with no further adu, here is my problem. My starting is not swell (expecially my cold start [it cannot stay on unless it almost shuts off and then revs up again…. again and again) and after about 5 miles there comes from the engine, this really aweful smell. Then a minute later, it is gone. Sometimnes it takes 20 minutes, or sometimes it is really faint. Almost never happens in the mourning. (I have a 5-minute commute to school). This smell is not really of oil, even though I would really not know, or of antifreeze. Upon sticking my head under the hood (when it is hot), it seems to be coming in from the left-rear side of the engine (right behind and below the heat return thing [no offence to anyone, I cannot remember the name of it]). I do have a slight oil loss, not too bad and a fluctuating antifreeze level (never rises but always drops). So I hope very much that anyone can help me for no girls shall ride with me (for any extended period of time). HeHe. Thanks again!
