Flywheel Alignment - Important? 200 1980

I am rebuilding a 1980 B21F engine and am installing the flywheel now. Of course I did not mark the relationship of the crank and the flywheel when removing it. My flywheel has no dowl pins to locate the relationship with the crank nor are the bolt holes offset to insure proper alignment. I am using the proceedure in the Haynes manuel for installation but this looks a little "cheesy" to me. How important is proper flywheel and crank alignment?
