Electrical Problem? 700 1986

every time I turn on the light switch knob (left side of dashboard), the lights come on but so do the windshield wipers (right side on steering wheel). No matter what I do to the windshield wiper lever, the wipers keep moving. The wipers go off only when I turn off the light switch knob. I presume that there's a short/electrical contact somewhere going on. Help!
