Hey Volvo Lovers,
My 89 240 just went through a whole slew of fuel system repairs (main pump, filter, line pressure regulator), and now that all is said and done, the check engine light came on. So, I ran the self-diagnostic and came up with fault codes indicating a problem with fuel injectors, and the air/fuel mixture is too rich(i think, but the code doesn't get specific between rich and lean). I've noticed a severe decline in mpg and performance. i've used some of that fuel injector cleaner you add when you fill up, and this has given some increase in performance and overall driveability. So, bascially I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Do i need to replace my injectors? Should I pull them and look for clogs/deposits? I'm pretty new to doing repairs myself, these fuel system jobs have been my first, so I'm just not really sure where to go from here. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Peace!
