OK, I was so proud of myself. I put new bushings, front and back, in my shift rod linkage. This is in an auto trans. The shifter always seemed to have alot of play and yesterday it had nothing. I looked underneath and the linkage had failed. I replaced the bushings and all seemed great, I was once again in love w/ my baby. Now though, when in reverse, the shifter shakes back and forth, if I back up faster it shakes harder and louder. The other gears are all fine and everything seems tight. Is this a bad sign? Is my tranny going away? I once had an old Austin Healy, and when the tranny went, and it did often, it would start w/ reverse. Now I'm not comparing this British dog to my Swedish masterpiece, but I'm a little concerned. Any ideas?
