Is there a differnce between... 200 1983

I know that the B230 is the motor of choice, at least 95+. What is the main differnces between the B230 and the B234. Is it just that the B234 is a 16 valve or are there other differneces. If i put a B234 head on a B230 is it a B234? Is there a differnce in compression? I have access to a B230, and i think i can get a B234 head with minimal problems. Thanks, any imput helps.
