I previously posted about a cold start problem. I recieved some ideas, but nothing has checked out.
Among the things that have been checked and found OK are:
Thermal time switch AOK
Control pressure regulator AOK
Feul Pump AOK
Pre pump AOK
Feul pressure AOK
Cold start injector AOK
Check valve AOK
My first mechanic, not a Volvo specialist, can help me no. My second attempt at help was with a independant Volvo garage, they told me I needed new rear brake rotors and wanted me to pay $200 for further diagnosis of the problem they should have been looking at in the first place. I got my car and ran. Now I'm hoping that my third attempt at a diagnosis will be the charm.
Problem: Car will start but stall within seconds. Subsequent attempts are more difficult. Putting the gas peddle to the floor will get the engine to rev but will still choke and die. Sometimes I hear knocking under the hood. When I do get it to start it idles very rough and the car bounces. Once the car is running, after a few minutes of rough idling, it runs fine. After the car has been driven it starts fine. One quirk is, that very occationally the car will start up perfectly.
Has anyone had experience with this sort of problem.
Thanks in advance!
