High-RPM shifting bad for tranny/clutch?

Sort of an addendum to my last post....was wondering if upshifting at high revs (>3500rpm) will prematurely wear the clutch or synchros? Does this put more stress on the drivetrain components, or does RPM not matter as long as you stay away from the redline?
