failed speedometer 200 1978

i looked in the archives and couldn't really find any help for this. most of the problems in them were intermitten working, or they would read faster/slower than the car was really going.

mine simply wont work. i was wondering if anyone knew how to go about troubleshooting and testing the cluster, testing the sensor, etc.

situation:

the speedometer just stopped working one day. the odometer does not work either. i pulled the cluster out and checked the wire, reconnected the wire, and it still doesnt work.
