e-brake warning light and electrical wierdness 700 1985

Folks:

I'm trying to track down a couple of electrical issues, and I'm not sure if they are related (probably not).

My ebrake on/off dash light lights up on start-up, but doesn't work when the ebrake is actually engaged (i.e., the light doesn't light). The switch isn't gummy at all, and it appears fine. However, this switch's layout doesn't seem to allow one to take it apart. I can't figure out why it might not work, anyone have an idea? I'll probably just replace teh switch anyway to try, but I REALLY don't think its the switch. What else could affect it? Obviously this is far from a show stopper, just an annoyance.

My other question regards the OEm radio/tape deck in my 1985 745t. yeah yeah, everyone bad mouths it. However, I have always found the original unit (the two dial, 24 presets on 2 am and 2 fm bands, treble/bass adjustment, auto-reverse deck) to be reliable and solid. Anyway, recently my radio started to lose all presets when I turn the car off. This happens 70% of the time, and sets the stations to the factory defaults.

While its possible its the radio itself, I'm leaning in the direction of a full power loss being the culprit. The radio is supposed to have constant power (if I remember correctly) to maintain the presets and clock (if its activacted... I have the dash clock and turned it off on the radio). Perhaps something is causing the power to the radio to disengage or turn off? Anyone know a likely culprit or where I might look for the hot wire that supplies constant electrical flow to the radio? I haven't checked for any loose connections on the radios back, but i figured I'd post here first to find out other peoples experiences/thoughts.

Thanks in advance for the help.

-Rick
