84/85 harness swap? 200 1984

Here's the deal:I want to swap the brand-new harness and computer from a junky(but good-running)'85 240 into a solid '84 wagon with typical harness rot.Is it that simple,or is there somthing I'm overlooking that makes it more complex(or not work at all?)I realize that it would be easier to just buy a new harness,but I'd rather not spend $400 for wires on such an old car...Any input appreciated-thanks.arobb8@hotmail.com please.
