I am planning on upgrading my AC in a 72 142 that still has the original set up with a York compressor and R12. The York will be replaced with a rotary of some form but I am getting conflicting information on the need to replace the coils. A local parts house suggested using a variable expansion valve that helps at lower speeds.

Any AC experts out there?--Thanks Mark Richardson
