Please help prevent premature death of my beloved\hated Brick from wheel shimmy. 700

Dear Fellow Brick Owners:

I confess near absolute frustration with my beloved\hated brick. The intermittent front wheel shimmy is still there after systematic tire rotation to isolate bad rim. I either have four bad rims or there is some thing else wrong. In either case I considered going to a dealer to purchase a non-Volvo vehicle. Lord help me.

My question is: What are the symptoms of a poorly adjusted or worn front hub aside from the more obvious squealing\smoking bearings? Could a worn\improperly adjusted hub or bearings cause the intermittent steering wheel vibrations? Have very many other brick owners experienced these sealed hubs going bad? I am going to take off the brake calipers to see if I can detect any looseness in the front wheel hubs this evening.

Thanks for your help in preventing Volvocide.
