120K tune-up suggestions/advice? 700 1992

I hope to keep this car for another 120K. The non-turbo four cylinder has proven reliable but we notice some heavy ticking in the morning. This may be an exhaust header leak but comments are appreciated. Just had the valves set so it's not that. Additionally, we notice some hesitation right off the start. We appreciate anyones thoughts and/or suggestions. Thank you.
