instrument cluster discrepancy...? 200

So I've got an instrument cluster sitting in my room. I just tried to test it in my 245, but the odometer and tripmeter don't work. Everything else seemed to work fine. The code on the speedometer is K10042. The code on my speedometer is K9800. What is the difference between the two? Also, will the odometer/tripmeter work on someone else's 240 with the same code (K10042)? Thanks.
