Bilsteins (and springs), worth the big $$$ from IPD?

I'm a "mod" sorta guy anyway and my ol' 745T already has all sorts of suspension and perf. mods, upgrades and I think it handles quite well for an old Volvo BUT there's those who say "you've gotta have Bilsteins".
Then.....the plot will thicken because then (I know), I'll "need" new springs too right?

I'm asking because I was surprized when I finally broke down and got some used IPD, front and rear sway bars, MVP links too as I didn't think that stuff would have helped as well as it did. Now, although I'm not having any suspension problems (the stock springs and stock strut cartridges are OK), am I likely to say "WOW!" after spending the cash on it?
