Difficult to find intermittent problem 700 1988

My 1988 740 has a very intermittent problem.

After running for 15-30 minutes, the engine will quit very suddenly. Just like switching off a light bulb.

It started a little over 1 year ago with momentary engine shut off and restart within a few seconds. Didnt even come to a stop and use the key to restart. The engine started by itself. The shop replaced main and fuel pump relays. Car ran fine for several months

When it happened again, the car would not restart for 5-10 minutes. I replaced the idle control module.

Next failure, same process as before, the shop replaced the air mass meter.

Next failure, same process. I found the in tank fuel pump had failed. Changed it and the in tank fuel filter, as well as the main fuel pump and the fuel pressure regulator (the last two just because the car has 220K miles.

Now it has just happened again. I still think its electrical but I'm stumped. All suggestions cheerfully accepted. Thanks
