Well after spending all day soaked in brake fluid and bleeding the brakes again, I still have no pedal at all. It just goes to the floor. Here's what I have done so far.
1) Installed new brake pads on all four wheels.
2) Installed new calipers and rotors on the front only.
3) Bled the brakes twice using a pressure bleeder - no brake pedal!
4) Replaced master cylinder and tighten up leaking brake line on front caliper.
5) Checked master cylinder using test plugs - brake pedal was firm & hard
6) Bled system again but still no brake pedal at all. - goes to floor
7) All bleed screws flow freely with no air bubbles except the left rear.
The fluid ony trickels out but I can see no air bubbles.
8) I have pumped the brake pedal but it never gets firm & solid at all.
After doing all that, I would expect to have SOME brake pedal.
I've checked all around for leaks and found none. I've bled at least two
quarts of brake fluid through the system following the Haynes bleeding sequence.
My next step is to pull the left rear wheel and see if I can get the fluid flowing any better. I've seen other posts here from people who have had the same problem I have, but no one ever posts whay they did to fix it. I have followed the Haynes and Bently manuals while doing the brake job but I still have no brakes.
I'm almost to the point of having the car towed to the repair shop because my wife needs the car for work. Tomorrow is my last chance to get it fixed before it gets towed, so any suggestions would be appreciated. How the heck do I get the pedal to firm back up.
Thanks...!
