1. Car was idling and died.
2. If I pump some starter fluid in air mass car will run for a second
3. jumped pump at relay an pump runs
3a disconnected connections at pump and found when cranking car no juice to main pump
4. switched relays with my other 240 and relays worked.
5. checked fuel sending unit and found ground along with metal lines comming out of sending unit rusted and some seepage of fuel on top of sending unit. Hose at top of tank pump was bad.
6. Replaced sending unit, hose and sock filter. Tested first.
7. When car is cranked no fuel comes out of the fuel pressure regulator
8. If I jump at relay fuel comes out and at the same rate my other 200 volvo.
9. If I jump at relay and try to crank no fuel comes out of fuel pressure regulator.
10. I also diconnected fuel line at top of fuel rail and fuel comes out only if I jump at relay.
11. Fuses are new, contacts clean. I am under the impression that being able to jump the pump at the relay assures the fuses and wiring are good.
12.spark out of coil
13.All wiring near firewall going down between intake manifold is in good condition.
14.About five thousand miles ago a new relay was put in and my mechanic reinsulated wiring near alternator. He had done the same to my other volvo. It is unlikly there are bad wires down below.
