I may have screwed up! 700 1988

Hi All:

I have a 740 turbo with about 105k miles on it. Having fail the emission test, I poured a gallon of methyl hydrate (wood alcohol) in half a tank of gas and re-did the test, which I passed (I've read the trick somewhere). I drove it afterwards to about 1/4 and filled up with 92 octane. Now I still have an hesitation once in a while.
Question: will it fix itself once all alcohol will have burnt, or should I do something else?
