What kind of Calipers are on my 93 945 turbo? 900

I went to my local auto parts store to order new calipers thinking all I needed to know was that the rear calipers on my car are ATE. Well, it turns out I also need to know if they are 38 or 40 mm (whatever this means). There are no stamps on the caliper that say either 38 or 40. Can anyone help me out? thanks
