I've heard of hesitation, but I haven't actually had a chance to experience the phenomena in an actual known case, so I don't know if I have this problem.
After the car has warmed up and I am at a stop, sometimes I like to floor it. I have a heavy foot. :-) In any case, between 750 and ~2800 RPM, it feels like there is no power. After ~2800, there is noticably more power and acceleration. I do not have a turbocharger, so it's not as if I'm building boost, but the sensation almost kind of is. The power/acceleration that comes in doesn't cause a lurch or anything, but I'm a sensitive driver so I can definitely feel it.
Sometimes it's slightly worse, where when I floor it from a standstill, the car will kind of sit there for a second not really accelerating at all. It's not like the engine feels like it'll stall out or anything like that, but it's as if it just doesn't want to go forward. This is especially noticeable if I'm at a stop on an upward incline.
Thanks.
