b280 needs help 760 700 1989

Hello all.

I have an 89 760 GLE. It has been a basket case.

It seem that the timing chain gasket is leaking oil directly ontop of the alternator. today, the alt must have arced and killed the battery while i was sitting at a stop light, as the car stalled and acted as though the battery had been dead for a while. Pulled the battery and charged it, now everything seams fine but the oil leak is bad and i'd guess this will happen again soon if it is not resolved.

Has anyone outhere had this problem? I am 70% sure that the timing chain case gasket is the issue but I'm just not gonna be sure til I pull it all out. I'm planning on ordering the gasket and all the belts too while I have it apart, is there anything tricky or should I order any other parts while I am at it?

I just changed my aw71 in the same car in Feb and didn't get much response from the questions I asked, so even if you only know a little, please respond.

Thanks.
