VX cam rough idle 700

I bolted on a VX cam with the adjustable cam gear today but am experiencing rough idle. I advanced the cam 2 degrees but it continued. I called IPD -as they sold me the cam- and talked to a Chris. He said that the VX cam should idle like stock even at 0 degrees. Has anyone installed this cam before and had similar problems? I checked the timing marks twice, am I missing something?
