In the picture below (stole it from somewhere, don't remember where) I'm curious about the metal shade looking deal on the exterior above the windshield. I'm assuming its for shade purposes. Does anyone know what models came with them? How well do they work, or are they mostly for appearances? Do they generate much more wind noise/resistance (is that possible on an Amazon?)? Yeah I'm sure they don't help, but are they horrible to the point where I'll regret putting it on?
Essentially, I've seen and I've liked, and I think my 68 would look nice with one. Any idea where I could get one? I've poked around the net, but come up dry so far. And where do they mount? Drilling in the body required?
I've seen a couple pics of PV's and 120's with similar metal shades on the old Tractor Pulling Center pages (before they took a vacation anyway), so I thought perchance they were an option at one point? Or at least a semi-popular aftermarket item. I've seen them on some chopped 50's Mercs before too.
