Steering woes 140-160 1970

Hi! I am now the proud owner of a 1970 144 B20A auto. I intend to drive it along side my 850 2.5 litre CD trim (little comparison really!!)

Just sold my 745 turbo and have owned 200s and 900s - all with power steering - and obviously the steering on the 144 feels.........well, heavy to say the least!

But, with my limited experience of steering boxes, if feels as if something is wrong - steering turned ok, comes to a dead spot, turns ok, and on to another deadspot - crack and it's through it. Can the ball bearing go 'flat'? That's the problem I had with an old '66 Ramber I also own.

Or can it be adjusted out?

If so - how!!

As you can imagine going from a 5 year old 'loaded' car to a 32 year old.............

Any thing else I need to look out for?

Thanks, and I hope to get in to 140 motoring......

Kevin
