Rear Suspension/Drivetrain noises... :(

hi,
I recently posting about a noise I heard that I thought was the trailing arm bushings. I dont think those are the cause of the noise but I not sure.

Here are some tests I performed to find the noise.
jacked up the differential. supported it by that, first spun the tires to see if we could hear stuff. just the differential, thought it might be bearings, the diff was loud, but listened to the 245 and they were the same. ran the 242 while it was raised, and in 1st gear @ 1500rpm it has a nasty body vibration. have isolated the noise to the rear, it produces that noise when I decelerate in 2nd gear. made that shuka shuka noise, and the body vibrated some. took it to the school. down the hill with building around to amplify the sound, didnt touch brakes or clutch and it made that noise around 20 mph. made that noise in reverse also. brother said that tranny was bouncing pretty good when we had it jacked up when the vibration was bad around 1500rpm, although when I take off on the road it is ok, and I dont feel it. checked the trans mount, and it is tight and still in good condition.
There is a noticeable humm that gets loud with car speed. especially in the higher gears.

any ideas always appreciated, sorry for the jumbled post it is copied and somewhat edited from a discussion I was having with a friend.

thanks
take care
